Cashmere Care

Care Instructions for Cashmere Garments:

Don't wash your cashmere garments regularly. Cashmere is highly breathable so odour and sweat goes away itself naturally. Recommended to wash 2-3 times only per year.

Washing:
Hand washing: Wash in a luke warm water with gentle detergent submerging the garment. Do not twist for rinsing.  Lay it flat on a drying rack or on a clean dry towel and allow the garment to air dry. Steam iron on low setting helps fibers settle down and makes your cashmere look brand new again.
Machine Washing : Use the following settings when machine washing: wool/hand wash, cold temperature, low spin. Do not tumble dry. Lay it flat on a drying rack or on a clean dry towel and allow the garment to air dry. Steam iron on low setting helps fibers settle down and makes your cashmere look brand new again.
      Dry Cleaning:
      • You can simply take it dry cleaning. They can remove piling too.
      Storage:
      • Store cashmere garments folded rather than hung to prevent stretching.
      • Consider adding cedar balls or lavender sachets to deter moths and maintain freshness.
        Maintenance:
        • Avoid wearing cashmere garments continuously without giving them time to rest between wears.
        • Remove any pills or lint using a cashmere comb or a fabric shaver designed for delicate fabrics.

By following these care instructions, you can help ensure that your cashmere garments remain soft, luxurious, and in excellent condition for years to come.

          Pilling Prevention and Treatment:

          1. New Garments and Pilling:

            • New cashmere garments may experience initial pilling as loose fibers work their way to the surface during wear.
            • This is a natural characteristic of cashmere and does not indicate a defect in the fabric.
            • Pilling should diminish with subsequent wear and wash cycles as the loose fibers settle.
          2. Pilling Prevention:

            • To minimize pilling, gently brush your cashmere garment with a cashmere comb or a soft-bristled garment brush before wearing.
            • Avoid wearing your cashmere garment with rough or abrasive materials that may cause friction and contribute to pilling.
          3. Pilling Treatment:

            • If pilling occurs, it can be easily removed using a lint shaver, or a lint roller specifically designed for delicate fabrics.
            • Gently glide the tool over the pilled areas in a single direction to lift and remove the pills without damaging the fabric.
            • Take care not to apply too much pressure to avoid pulling or stretching the garment.

By following these additional guidelines, you can effectively manage pilling on your cashmere garments and maintain their appearance and softness over time.
